In 2020 Galp Energia announced the closing of one of it's refineries in Northern Portugal. Today, it's chimneys still tower the landscape like modern day cathedrals of industry. The promise of a green energy transition remains in the future. The Closing of a Refinery is a non-fiction film that attempts to address the complexity of climate change while commenting on the reliance of technology and the use of easy sound bites as solutions to a global problem.
