The School of Media Arts and Design (ESMAD) is a teaching and research unit of the Polytechnic of Porto.
This school is considered as a national and international reference, and its mission is to contribute to the development of graduate and post-graduate education in Portugal, encouraging research and cooperation with society.
Within its scope of action, the school is concerned with areas that are closely linked to media, arts and design and aims at training and educating highly qualified professionals, developing creative skills and artistic awareness in the audiovisual industry, photography, film, design, multimedia, digital games and web technologies.
We try to promote critical thinking about the present and imagining the future creatively. At ESMAD, strong technical skills are associated to the artistic vocation of the author’s profile. With a laboratory educational project, strongly oriented to employability, we invest in training environments favorable to innovation, creativity and excellence.
We promote multidisciplinary collaboration and teamwork.
Located in Campus 2 (Póvoa de Varzim/Vila do Conde), ESMAD offers quality spaces and excellent equipment. We are one of the most comprehensive, differentiated and award-winning educational programs in Portugal.
